Book Project:  God’s Dream (Transformation through Kingdom Advancement)

The Story of Huntington WV’s Transformation

Our current project is to launch the book, “God’s Dream” transformation through kingdom advancement. We are in the process of raising $30,000 to get this book to market. It is an inspiring story of what God has done in one community, Huntington West Virginia. It is a case study of what God can do when his people come together with a passion to advance his kingdom in their lives and in their communities. Author Mike Greider, shares this inspiring story as well as the key principles that will help anyone make a difference in their community. If you’d like to help us get the word out just hit the donate button. Your donation will be tax deductible.
You can also take advantage of some of the videos that we have made available from some of the different conferences and teaching sessions we have offered in the past.

We also are a network of churches who want to be part of an ongoing movement of Kingdom Advancers. If you’d like to register your congregation then simply fill out the application form on our network page. We will provide an apostolic covering that involves guidance, support and encouragement. This will also include our monthly newsletter as well as invitations for our regional conferences.

Statement of Endorsement
God’s Dream by Mike Greider

My friend and ministry colleague, Mike Greider, has written an excellent, very readable, and faith-stirring book on how Huntington, West Virginia, was transformed from a broken city to a city that is now considered a very desirable place to live.

For several decades now, we the people of God have learned the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ transforms more than individuals. God’s dream, ie., His purpose for history, includes Cultural Transformation and even Civilizational Transformation.

The vehicle by which this transformation is released in different localities is the Ekklesia- Church of the Lord which is described by Jesus in Matthew 5 as (1) the Salt of the earth; (2) the Light of the world; and (3) a City on a hill which cannot be hidden. The release of these realities in our communities begins and is sustained by the prayers of the saints of God. I love the way the author states in the opening sentence that this is a story of prayer. (Might I add, this is a story of effective, corporate, and Spirit-led prayer!).

The historic and future impact of this kind of praying can be found in Scriptures like Habbukuk 2:14. The prophet declares: “for the earth will be filled with knowledge of the glory of Lord as the waters cover the sea”.

On a personal note, let me mention that Huntington, West Virginia is a city I have known about and visited most of my life. I was born in Charleston. My uncle, Hosea Hodges, was the chief of police in Huntington in the 1950s.

The dream of God is increasingly unfolding in Huntington and, for that matter, it is unfolding in America and the nations of the earth!

You and I can be a part of the implementation of God’s Dream! We can be informed, challenged, motivated, and equipped by this book!

You can also use this volume to teach others to join you in His Dream!

I conclude by honoring the author. He, as a pastor and leader in the Kingdom of God, has and is living and modeling what he writes about in this book.

I pray this book gets wide circulation. There are more cities and nations awaiting for transformation that accompanies the advancement of the Kingdom of God in history!

Introduction: Being Part of His Story

We all want our lives to count for something. There’s something inside of us that wants to make a real difference.

That is the heart of this message!

Pastor Mike Greider shares his own journey of how God has radically invaded his life and allowed him to be a part of team to whom God revealed the principles and process of becoming an agent of Kingdom transformation.

When we think about the Kingdom of God, we may envision something in the distant future. But the author shows us that, although the fullness of the Kingdom of God is manifest when Jesus Christ returns, there also is a powerful present reality that every one of us can be engaged in right now!

Jesus came preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom. What is the good news about the Kingdom that you need to understand more deeply today?

This is not just one man’s journey. Rather it is the story of a community that was willing to let Jesus Christ show them how the blessings of His Kingdom can be experienced in real and tangible ways. These blessings are personal, and for an entire community. It is an inspiring story of a community that truly was an underdog.

This story was made possible because of the willing, hungry hearts of so many. Individuals who did not want to draw attention to themselves, but to be a part of His Story. That’s what history is all about. History is simply “His Story” being revealed in a way that unveils the goodness and kindness of the King of Kings.

My personal thanks go to the unsung heroes of the Kingdom. Those passionate intercessors who are willing to stay in the shadows yet called forth His Kingdom in all of His power and glory. To the community leaders who each day, quietly ask God to flow through them, to do something that is beyond them. To the Pastors who were willing to put their theology aside to focus on Jesus’ agenda. To the marketplace leaders who were willing to park their egos and logos, so that the King could use their Companies to become a blessing to all.

How can I express my gratitude to those who came from all across the United States and around the world to participate in what God wanted to do in a community that in many ways was the least and the last?

I pray that you enjoy the recounting of a journey that continues to unfold. I hope that you’re inspired by what the Holy Spirit revealed to us individually and collectively as we invited God to expand His Kingdom in our lives and in our community.

In sharing this testimony, we believe that God can “do it again”, in your life and in your community!
